++>> Today, I'm going to do something that many people probably will consider strange.

I'm going to write a handful of songs for my wife's 40th birthday.

My wife is quite shy, and she absolutely has made it clear that she does not want a surprise birthday party. She hates to be the center of attention.

So I got to thinking, what would be something really special that she would really like. I couldn't think of anything, so I decided to do this. Actually, I am pretty sure the gift will mean a lot to her, even if the quality of the music and lyrics leaves something to be desired (in case you are wondering, I did have years of musical training as a child and teenager, so I'm not totally going at this extreme sport without proper protection).

Time to jump in and start swimming. <{Splash!}>. Brrr, the water's cold. Hope I don't drown.
